So, I don’t know if you guys remember, but last Tuesday was Cameron and I’s (our?) 6th month anniversary (with Sunday being 7th months dating).
What do we do to celebrate? Break out the annual passes and head to Disneyland like cool kids is what.
We left our place on Saturday night and checked into a hotel before heading out the next day. Like last time, we did California Adventure first. We first gor our fastpasses for the new Carsland ride, then headed over to California Screamin’, then the ferris wheel where we had a nice chat with a woman, her son, and his grandmother.
There was a break where we had to talk some things out, but I can say (and I’m sure he would too) that we ended up stronger after. It reaffirmed my love for him and it magnified it. <9
We got some food from Ghirardelli’s and a food cart before walking around a little bit more. We rode the Little Mermaid ride again without having to wait too long, followed by the Zephyr and performance by Andy’s Army Men. We grabbed fastpasses for Tower of Terror and World of Color, before taking a lunch break.
Then Disneyland! We stopped by a food place at the behest of a friend for their sweet cream cheese and jalapeño pretzels (which were so good!). While we sat outside and ate, Cruella de Ville was doing a meet and greet, so we went up to meet her and take a selfie. We then proceeded to take selfies with all of the statues in front of Cinderella’s castle (which will have it’s own photoset so sit tight!!).
We did Astro-Blasters, which I lost at again but I still had a ton of fun nonetheless, and we looked for our old pal Zoë (who we couldn’t find at all! /frownyface) for a bit before riding It’s a Small World, which was a nice rest from all the walking around we’d been doing. We ended up back in front of Cinderella’s castle again, this time on the bridge, and we took a small nap in one of the flagpole alcoves.
We hit up Downtown Disney soon afterwards and headed for D-Street where we got into Vinylnation; a store attendant told us about trading and we actually traded with a collector outside the shop too! We headed back for California Adventure where we rode Tower of Terror and then Toy Story Mania. We finished up the night by watching the spectacular that is World of Color. It’s been awhile since I’ve last seen it and it was more special and breathtaking then than it was before. Seeing it with my special someone made it even all the more better. <9
Since we had class at nine the next day (as in yesterday), we headed out and left for home. I had started feeling queasy by the time we pulled into the parking garage so I had a quick late dinner of noodles before climbing into bed.
Sunday was such a special day for me, and as Cameron put it, “eight kinds of worth it!” This man doesn’t bring me the world, rather, he is my world now. We often talk about our kids, our first apartment together, moving to LA after graduation. I used to be a little scared at first, scared of the unknown and of adulthood, but after talking about it and opening up, that nervousness turned to excitement. Our plans together give me something new to look forward to, and they give me new purpose. Living day to day is fine and all, but that’s all it is: fine.
I am the Dummyhead to his Sunshine, the knight to his prince. I know we have our bouts here and there, but in the end we come back stronger together than ever. I love him, and I’m in love with him. <9
Just had the best weekend ever with Cameron. <9
Started Saturday at three when we went to the beach and splashed around. The sun and sea were absolutely gorgeous and I had a blast. Almost got a case of swimmer’s ear, but it checked out alright in the end. Laid out on a huge rock in the sun and it was so relaxing.
It was about an hour and a half or so before sundown when we headed out east for Cameron’s nephew’s Little League game. I loved it; not only was it fun, but I got to see his family again and they’re always a fun and loving bunch. Played cars with Cameron’s other nephew and chatted with the adults for a bit. I think our team won? I’m not sure anyone was keeping score in the first place, but I had a ton of fun anyways.
Headed back to the suite for a shower before heading northbound for… DISNEYLAND! We bought annual passes earlier in the week and were just excited overall. Booking a hotel on the way there was a nerve-wracking experience at first, but now I look back at it with a smile. I managed to snag us a super nice inn right across from the parks. So we check in and we roll out of bed the morning after, ready to tackle the day, which pretty much looked like:
- California Adventure first!
- Getting beat at Toy Story Mania. Maybe next time? Heheh.
- Riding in front of screaming Japanese girls at California Screamin’
- (We also got complimented on how cute we were but a couple of punk girls!)
- Walked around Carsland and was amazed at how amazing it all looked.
- Was serenaded to on The Little Mermaid ride.
- Talked about speech tournaments and rode Zephyr.
- Got FastPass tickets for Tower of Terror.
- Shopped a bit at Downtown Disney before grabbing food to eat.
- (Our waiter, Luigi, was suuuuper nice!)
- BUILD-A-BEAR. (It was my first time and all the more special. Tiffany, the girl who rang us up, was so hilarious and sweet.)
- Our FastPasses expired, so we stood in line at Tower of Terror, managing to keep ourselves entertained all the while.
- Time for Disneyland! Headed straight for Tomorrowland.
- Got beat at Astro-blasters. Ah well, I was doing good for awhile. (x
- We suddenly became best friends with these two cashier girls, Zoë and Molly, who were just so amazing that we just geeked out with them about Kingdom Hearts and stuff. Zoë gave us special pins that said “Kingdom Hearts pin trackers” and they signed them. Also, she gave me her instagram, lolol.
- (Actually we visited them three times within a certain period of time, with them getting more and more excited and fun with each meeting. Such awesome people.)
- Waited in line at Space Mountain, only for it to break down while we were near the front. We struck up a conversation with Chloe, one of the line attendants before leaving during the fireworks show.
- Rode Astral Orbiters and watched the fireworks all the while.
- Star Tours! It was Cameron’s first time and he liked it, which I took in stride. (Also, a couple of cast members saw our pins and wanted to sign too. Haha okay then.)
- Space Mountain again! This time we did manage to get on and we kept our hands up the entire time. (I was afraid of my hands hitting something, but we were good.)
- Last-minute shopping! Our original plan was to buy stuff for people at World of Disney, but it had closed. We managed to grab everything we needed in 45 seconds and we met up with Zoë again!
- More shopping down Main Street. I got Cameron another antenna ball to replace his old one. (:
- Sealed the night at Disneyland with a dip and a kiss at the end of Main Street. <&
- Also: ordered a late dinner to-go at IHOP. Stephanie took our order and was super chill.
We just got back like several hours ago, on a drive with a soundtrack backed by mainly Oren Lavie and Lindsey Pavao. Perfect end to a perfect weekend.

So like, yesterday, or rather this past weekend, was the best ever.
And this guy right here is why.
It was our two-month anniversary on Sunday, so we headed on over to the nearby mall and watched Silver Lining Playbook. Such a good film, totally recommend it. Walked around the mall a bit before heading to Rock Bottom where we made friends with our server. We followed up with a trip down to downtown for Extraordinary Desserts where I ordered one too many cake slices (they were huge!!!) and Cameron flipped out over spilled milk. We ended the night with some stargazing down at the beach on top of his car. Even if it was fucking cold, we still had a great time pointing out all the different constellations. I almost got arrested (or in some sort of trouble) because we were there 30 minutes after we weren’t allowed to park at the beach anymore and an officer came up and asked for our IDs, which I don’t have. He was really cool though.
We watched The Amazing Spiderman with his suitemates on Friday and I slept over at his place. I hung out with his suitemates while he was at work during the day before going out for milkshakes on campus and Five Guys plus dipping into a bookstore to browse around.
So there’s my weekend in a nutshell of sorts. A perfect weekend that I’ve needed for awhile now.
Olive juice. <9
