| The electrolyte (water) inside the battery is a mixture of sulfuric acid and distilled water. If the electrolyte level is too low then the battery will not function correctly, since the chemical reaction won´t be completely and the battery will not completly charge. Todays batteries are supposed to be ¨maintenance free¨, but even in that case it is always recommendable to have the electrolyte level checked periodically. check spelling and grammar |
